Sr. QA Engineer, Software - UI 

Position Summary

We are hiring a Senior QA Engineer to own the quality of our web UI and native and hybrid mobile applications (iOS and Android). You will design the test strategy, build & maintain reliable automation, lead and mentor other QA engineers while working closely with teams distributed across the world.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the test strategy, plans and cases for web UI, native/hybrid mobile (iOS/Android) applications, translating use cases and acceptance criteria into functional, regression, integration and exploratory tests
• Design, build and maintain reusable, reliable and scalable test automation frameworks for UI, mobile and API layers, integrated into CI/CD pipelines for fast release feedback; setup & manage real IoT devices for automation test suite
• Ensure the best possible quality, performance, UX, accessibility and responsiveness across devices, OS versions, screen sizes and browsers, including consistent behavior of hybrid apps on iOS and Android
• Identify performance bottlenecks and defect trends through stress testing of the applications for performance and root-cause analysis, partner with developers on fixes, and research and adopt new testing tools and practices

MUST HAVE

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English, with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people
• Strong leadership and organizational skills: the ability to influence, motivate, coach and mentor other engineers, prioritize multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail, and work independently or collaboratively, taking initiative and staying productive under pressure
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
• 5+ years of experience in software QA, including the following:
  • Test automation for web UI and native and hybrid mobile (iOS and Android) applications using tools such as Playwright or Selenium
  • Hands-on automation development in TypeScript/JavaScript (React-based UI applications)
  • Testing REST-based services and APIs using tools such as Postman or REST Assured
  • Hybrid and native mobile app testing (webview and native context switching, native plugin and bridge behavior, cross-platform consistency) across real devices, simulators/emulators and multiple OS versions, including app store release and beta distribution processes
  • Creating test plans, test cases and defect reports, and working in Agile/Scrum teams
  • Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (for example Jenkins or GitHub Actions)

Strong Pluses

• AI Tooling to perform entire test life cycle of Quality Assurance
• Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience testing UI and mobile applications for large-scale distributed systems, and understanding the architectural patterns behind them

• Mexico City, Mexico 
• Hybrid Schedule: In office Monday–Thursday; Remote Friday
